Canadian Art Catalogue

Somewhat recently in the evolution of Bison Books, interest and opportunity have led me further into a specialty in Canadian art books. As an art lover and opportunist, I have begun to extend the reach of the art section, including everything from the collectable and valuable books, to ephemeral items and good quality general reference books. Below is a selection of the books currently available in our holdings. Note that all are subject to prior sale, prices are in USD, and postage is additional.

This is No. 249 of 275 printed. “Every copy is numbered in edition and signed by artist and author. In the tradition of fine book publishing great care was taken by highly skilled craftsmen in the printing, colour separation and binding of this book. All the text is illustrated with numerous contemporary and archival photographs printed in a duotone process and the archival material in a sepia tone. Every effort was made to capture the quality of the inking on the original prints. The luxurious binding utilizes genuine caribou skin that has been hand bleached, which involved many stages of repeated scraping, soaking and drying. Each book has the individuality of the marking and variations of colour of the caribou skin. Every book was finished by hand with careful attention to detailing with hand sewn and bone head and tail bands.” (#046358) $2,000.00
